Unit 1: Digital Life

The lessons in this unit are designed to use your excitement and interest in using the Internet to encourage you to talk about the effect that digital media has on your life, your community, and our culture. You will discuss the positive and negative characteristics of digital life and you will be introduced to the idea of digital citizenship.

· Unit 2: Privacy and Digital Footprints
In a world in which everyone is connected and anything created can be copied, pasted, and sent to millions of people, it is important that you bring a sense of ethical responsibility to the online spaces where you use, create, and share information. In this unit's lessons, you will learn to manage your own privacy and respect the privacy of others.

In these lessons you will explore hurtful online behavior and the “group think” mentality that is often involved.


· Unit 3: Connected Culture

You will explore the ethics of participating in and building positive online communities, as well as how communities are upset because of cyberbullying and other damaging behaviors. The lessons explore the impact of students' individual actions – both negative and positive – on their friends and on the larger communities in which they participate.
